Frequently Asked Questions

Compatible Devices

What type of devices are compatible with the S-MOD Adapter

The S-MOD adapter allows you to plug your i-Pod, MP-3, many cell phones and any device that accepts a 3.5mm stereo input jack.

The adapter does not work with some Helicopter Headsets. If you purchase an adapter for Helicopter use, you will not be guaranteed a refund if the adapter does not work properly with your Helicopter Headset.

Installation

I am having trouble installting, what is the correct sequence of switches?

For Your Bose Aviation Headset X to work properly with the S-MOD, configure the small switches under the AA batteries on the Battery Powered Control Module in the following sequence: Switches 1 through 4 Down - towards the numbers. Switches 5 and 6 Up - away from the numbers.

Troubleshooting

I am only hearing sounds in one ear, how do I get sounds out of both ears?

After switching the small switches in the Bose headset as you describe, I am still only getting sound in one ear.
- Make sure that your 6 ft. 3.5mm cord is plugged completely into both your adapter and input device. If either is not plugged in all the way, you will only get sound in one ear. Also make sure that both ends of the cord fit into the device you are using. Some devices have an indentation that does not allow the 6 ft cord to seat completely into your device. Your local electronics store may have a cord that will work with your device and the adapter.

How do I increase the volume?

What do I need to do to get more volume?
- Try both positions on the hi/lo impendence switch on the adapter. Also make sure that the volume lock/limiter on your input device is not set to low. The volume is controlled through your input device i.e.: ipod, mp3, iphone, blackberry, etc.
